Happy Veterans Day! A Little Did You Know Clip!
Filed under: African American Culture and Entertainment, African American Politics
Thank You to all of our women and men in the armed services. We appreciate everything you do for our country. God Bless You All!
Here is a little veterans day lesson for you. The Tuskegee Airmen never lost a bomber! During The ENTIRE WAR!!
I hope your day was wonderful!
Crabs in A Bucket! No Lid Necessary!
If you are an African American living on the planet Earth then you are very aware of the phrase “Crabs in a Bucket!” The unfortunate thing is that if you are an African American Person living on planet earth you are very aware of the phrase “Crabs in a Bucket!” That being said you can’t fix a problem unless you address it. So let’s address it! The elephant is in the room. The bull is in the China closet. Are you ready to address it?
As a blogger we spend a LOT of time on the internet. So we read a lot of the craziness and a lot of the excellent. So first let us address the craziness. The Craziness! (And not in a good way.)
Let me start by saying… We have been blessed to see the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He has started to turn our economic crisis around in less than a year. (Stock Market is Constantly Going Up!) He has presented us with a way to reform health care. The margin by which he won the nomination was record breaking! He is encouraging more global cooperation and pushing for greener sources of energy. He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He won the Nobel Peace Prize. He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He has strengthened our position with many of the nations from around the world Allies and Adversaries. He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He has done all of this in less than a year. And finally:
He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America!!

Barack Obama 44th President
What African American would take anything that is positive about this fellow African American and spin it to make it a detriment?
Exhibit B: Booker Rising
Exhibit B: If it is in fact run by an African American this is a prime example of Exhibit A (Image Above.)
You see I don’t know about you, but for me this would fall under the “Don’t hate Congratulate!” category. Besides black people are like family and these folks would be that cousin that is never happy and talks about everybody no matter how well or how poorly they are doing. You see the problem is that before the internet the media would seek these people out and say “See we were right! We have a black person saying the same thing so there. Fair and Balanced America! Fair and Balanced!” The only problem is that they always invite cousin boo boo the fool to comment on the state of African American Politics, Life, and anything else. Are you feeling me?
Here is the beautiful part! The Internet(Invented by Al Gore. Just Kidding.) is here! So we all have a voice. Anybody with half of an opinion on the state of World Politics, Fashion, Entertainment, Education and anything else is now free to chime in. So I am doing my part! “First amendment rights!” the folks at Booker would probably say not remembering that that didn’t mean African American people until around February 10th 1964 give or take a few years.
I say give or take a few years because even though the Civil Rights act was passed we all know it is still taking some time to be put in effect and it is 2009. Yet I digress, that is another story for another day.
So why do we do so much self sabotage. Unfortunately I believe it stems back to the grand ole time of slavery. You see the mental scars caused by that utterly horrific time in our history are still with us. As black people we don’t like ourselves yet. We are starting to a little now, but it is still a work in progress. Think about this. What other minority group willingly calls its own members out of their names and think it a term of endearment? There are more examples, but I think you get the picture.
Wait a minute Roosevelt. Aren’t you doing the same thing? Well yes and no you see in blogger world links are gold. If you will notice every time you see Booker’s name listed it is in red. I have made sure that they receive a link from our site every time that their name is mentioned. Every link on the web means that it is a vote for their site. That helps them drive traffic and increase their revenue and Google says good for you! You are popular. This post, while giving a bit of a tongue lashing to our family over at Booker, is also giving them a hand. In short, I think we can always agree to disagree.
But right now Jimmy, Esther’s Baby, is in his first year at (Fill in Prestigious University/Corporation / Major World Leader of A Major World Power here) and he is the first in our family to go to the top at (Fill in Prestigious University/Corporation/ Major World Leader of A Major World Power here). So we should send him support and praise so that next time maybe, oh I don’t know another little Black, Latino, Asian, Native, Arab, or Middle Eastern American woman or man is nominated for that office they can have a chance at being seen as being great!
PART TWO THE POSITIVE PART IS COMING SOON!!
Obama Wins The Nobel Peace Prize!

What a wonderful day in American History. Barack Obama wins the Nobel Prize. Our president has brought together the world and the Nobel Prize committee is celebrating this. What a blessing and what a time we live in.
