Medgar was born July 2, 1925 in Decatur, Mississippi. His father James Evers owned a small farm and worked as a Sawmill worker. Medgar was a leader one of the original leaders in the Civil Rights movement. His passion and drive lead the way for many leaders to come. A contemporary of Dr. King.
