Blacks In Technology?
Step 1: What do you want to do?
Our society is an expert at figuring out what we do not want to do. We say things like “I don’t want to be broke. Or “I don’t want to be sick.” Or “I don’t want to lose my job.” Or “I don’t want to run into her/him.” What if we started thinking about what we wanted? What if we started saying I want to have this or I want to do that. How drastically would our lives change? I can tell you from experience that the difference is amazing! The difference in the quality of life and in the quality of your income is outstanding. When you chose to use the words I want instead of I don’t want God, Allah, The Holy Spirit, The Universe, whatever you want to call it, starts to give you what you want. The Bible says ask and it shall be given unto you. It does not say “Say what you don’t want and you will get what you want.” Does it? I think we all know the answer to that.
So what do you want to do? What do you want to sell on the Internet? What do you want to write about on the Internet? What service would you like to provide? Go Big! Think big! Because remember the verse says “Ask and you shall receive!” Not maybe! You will receive! Not if you have done everything that “they” say you need to do you will receive. It Says YOU WILL RECEIVE! So ask for the moon and keep asking until you get it. You are a child of God so act like one! Those of you that have kids know what I am talking about.
Those of you who don’t here is what I mean. Children will ask for what they want over and over and over and over again. Right? They will ask for whatever it is until they get it or until you tell them they better not ask you again. Then what do we do as parents? If we feel as if we can afford it we get it for them. Whatever it is!!! Why? I will tell you why. We buy it or get it for them because we want them to have whatever would make them happy. They are our children and we love them.
Now imagine you had all of the money in the world all of the resources in the world. Imagine if you had the ability to buy or get anything you wanted whenever you wanted. Well guess what? God has all of that. If you believe that there is a God then you must believe that God has and is everything. All of the money you could ever imagine, all of the material goods and resources you could ever want, all of the everything you could ever want. If God is your father or mother or whatever you believe and all that God, Allah, The Universe asks you to do is “ASK FOR WHAT YOU WANT!” and then says “THAT YOU WILL RECEIVE IT!” What are you waiting for? START ASKING!!!! So what do you want to do? What do you want to sell. What do you want to write about? What do you want to do?
Think about that and don’t ever say “Well nobody will ever buy that.” OR “Nobody will ever pay me to do that.” People are buying water! Let me say this again. PEOPLE ARE BUYING WATER! Last time I checked in the United States Of America water is FREE! FREE! So if people will pay for something that they can get for free they will buy what you want to sell! So I will ask you again. What do you want to do?

Crabs in A Bucket! No Lid Necessary!
If you are an African American living on the planet Earth then you are very aware of the phrase “Crabs in a Bucket!” The unfortunate thing is that if you are an African American Person living on planet earth you are very aware of the phrase “Crabs in a Bucket!” That being said you can’t fix a problem unless you address it. So let’s address it! The elephant is in the room. The bull is in the China closet. Are you ready to address it?
As a blogger we spend a LOT of time on the internet. So we read a lot of the craziness and a lot of the excellent. So first let us address the craziness. The Craziness! (And not in a good way.)
Let me start by saying… We have been blessed to see the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He has started to turn our economic crisis around in less than a year. (Stock Market is Constantly Going Up!) He has presented us with a way to reform health care. The margin by which he won the nomination was record breaking! He is encouraging more global cooperation and pushing for greener sources of energy. He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He won the Nobel Peace Prize. He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He has strengthened our position with many of the nations from around the world Allies and Adversaries. He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America. He has done all of this in less than a year. And finally:
He is the first African American president in the existence of the United States of America!!

Barack Obama 44th President
What African American would take anything that is positive about this fellow African American and spin it to make it a detriment?
Exhibit B: Booker Rising
Exhibit B: If it is in fact run by an African American this is a prime example of Exhibit A (Image Above.)
You see I don’t know about you, but for me this would fall under the “Don’t hate Congratulate!” category. Besides black people are like family and these folks would be that cousin that is never happy and talks about everybody no matter how well or how poorly they are doing. You see the problem is that before the internet the media would seek these people out and say “See we were right! We have a black person saying the same thing so there. Fair and Balanced America! Fair and Balanced!” The only problem is that they always invite cousin boo boo the fool to comment on the state of African American Politics, Life, and anything else. Are you feeling me?
Here is the beautiful part! The Internet(Invented by Al Gore. Just Kidding.) is here! So we all have a voice. Anybody with half of an opinion on the state of World Politics, Fashion, Entertainment, Education and anything else is now free to chime in. So I am doing my part! “First amendment rights!” the folks at Booker would probably say not remembering that that didn’t mean African American people until around February 10th 1964 give or take a few years.
I say give or take a few years because even though the Civil Rights act was passed we all know it is still taking some time to be put in effect and it is 2009. Yet I digress, that is another story for another day.
So why do we do so much self sabotage. Unfortunately I believe it stems back to the grand ole time of slavery. You see the mental scars caused by that utterly horrific time in our history are still with us. As black people we don’t like ourselves yet. We are starting to a little now, but it is still a work in progress. Think about this. What other minority group willingly calls its own members out of their names and think it a term of endearment? There are more examples, but I think you get the picture.
Wait a minute Roosevelt. Aren’t you doing the same thing? Well yes and no you see in blogger world links are gold. If you will notice every time you see Booker’s name listed it is in red. I have made sure that they receive a link from our site every time that their name is mentioned. Every link on the web means that it is a vote for their site. That helps them drive traffic and increase their revenue and Google says good for you! You are popular. This post, while giving a bit of a tongue lashing to our family over at Booker, is also giving them a hand. In short, I think we can always agree to disagree.
But right now Jimmy, Esther’s Baby, is in his first year at (Fill in Prestigious University/Corporation / Major World Leader of A Major World Power here) and he is the first in our family to go to the top at (Fill in Prestigious University/Corporation/ Major World Leader of A Major World Power here). So we should send him support and praise so that next time maybe, oh I don’t know another little Black, Latino, Asian, Native, Arab, or Middle Eastern American woman or man is nominated for that office they can have a chance at being seen as being great!
PART TWO THE POSITIVE PART IS COMING SOON!!
